OVERVIEW AND TOPICS
Liquor Liability Exposures and Coverages
Participants attending this session will be able to identify and analyze the liability exposures associated with the sale or gift of alcoholic beverages (including both common law and statutory law) from the perspective of social hosts, as well as licensees/permitees. They will review the Liquor Liability Coverage Form in depth, as well as endorsements that will further restrict or broaden coverage.
Agency Coverage Standards
Every insurance agency should establish coverage standards to better serve their clients. Coverage standards include needed coverages and endorsements and avoided endorsements. In this session, participants will review and examine the specific insurance provisions of the Commercial General Liability Policy, Business Auto Policy Coverage Form, Workers Compensation and Employers Liability Insurance Policy, Commercial Umbrella Liability Policy, Commercial Property Policy, and Commercial Crime Policy. They will discuss coverages provided in each policy, as well as endorsements that may be needed to further tailor coverages to the specific exposures.
Had I Been On That Jury...Employment Liability Edition
Using recent employment-based liability insurance coverage cases, participants will sit as “jurors” in this interactive session. They will review and discuss the facts of each case and compare their decisions to the actual verdict by the appellate court. They will gain a better understanding of exposures and insurance coverages pertinent to their insureds.
The Impaired and the Shared Economy and Insurance Implications
The primary focus of this session is on ridesharing and home sharing as examples of the new economy and the new way of doing business. Participants will discuss Homeowners and Personal Auto coverage issues that arise from these changes. The latter half of the presentation concentrates on the insurance issues related to national and state changes in marijuana possession and use laws.
