Using recent personal lines and commercial lines insurance coverage cases, participants will sit as “jurors” in this interactive session. They will review and discuss the facts of each case and compare their decisions to the actual verdict by the appellate court. They will gain a better understanding of exposures and coverages provided in various insurance coverage forms, such as: Commercial General Liability, Homeowners, Personal Liability Umbrella, Business Auto, Workers Compensation, and Professional Liability.

Using recent professional liability insurance coverage cases, participants will sit as “jurors” in this interactive session. They will review and discuss the facts of each case and compare their decisions to the actual verdict by the appellate court. They will gain a better understanding of exposures and insurance coverages pertinent to both traditional professionals and non-traditional classes of business.
Ethical Issues
In this session, participants will understand ethical challenges that insurance professionals face, difference between legal and ethical responsibilities and their fiduciary duties and obligations to the customer, insurer, and peers.
Cyber Issues & Answers
Nearly all commercial businesses have cyber exposures. New exposures and insurance coverages are changing and emerging rapidly. In this session, participants will gain a working knowledge of the terminology and concepts specific to cyber insurance, as well as discuss the need for Cyber Liability Coverage. They will discuss issues, such as: first-party and third-party exposures related to cyber risks, coverage limitations in standard liability policies, and major provisions commonly found in cyber liability insurance policies. They will look at insurance issues with Commercial General Liability, Employment Practices Liability, Directors and Officers Liability, Crime, and Professional Liability policies.
General Liability Coverage and Endorsements - The Fine Print
Take an in-depth look at specific coverages involving the ISO Commercial General Liability form, including premises and business operations, product and completed operations, contractual, contingent, and personal and advertising injury liability. Identify selected CGL exclusions and the impact on their clients. Learn how specific endorsements can amend policy provisions, add coverage, increase or decrease coverage limits, or restrict coverage. Examine the status of additional insured in the CGL Policy. Discuss who is an insured, why the additional insured endorsement may be needed, and the impact of the endorsement on the coverage.
Care for the Long Term: HSA and LTC Plans Working Well Together!!
Participants will be aware of the benefits afforded them of a Health Savings Account (HSA) and Long-Term Care (LTC) Insurance. They will understand the HSA and how it is created. They will also understand Medicare and Medicaid as they relate to LTC and LTC Insurance. They will learn what LTC insurance is, what it costs, what services it covers, and who should purchase it. They also learn the tax advantages of having an HSA and LTC Insurance. By explaining state partnership laws and the benefit of depositing LTC premiums into an HSA, they may also recognize the tax benefits of this process and how the programs work well when they are both purchased.
