OVERVIEW AND TOPICS
Technology Tangible and Intangible Property Loss Exposures and Risk Finance Solutions
In today’s business environment, technology errors and omissions insurance is essential. The integral role technology plays in many large businesses means the damages caused by malfunction can be extremely costly. Technology Errors and Omissions insurance coverage is not provided by a Commercial General Liability policy. In this session, you will examine the types of technology product defects, the types of technology products liability lawsuits, and the types of economic recovery from these suits, the types of product liability defenses, and the underwriting risks. Discussion includes the various technology errors and omissions coverage options available to address these unique exposures.
Agents will examine the areas of environmental exposures faced by businesses and organizations, as well as the legal concepts and remedies related to environmental legal liability of persons or organizations. They will be able to identify sources of environmental liability based upon important Federal Environmental Statutes. They will examine the pollution exclusions found in the CGL, BAP, Umbrella, Directors & Officers, Professional Liability, and Property forms, and be able to identify endorsements that modify the exclusions to add or restrict coverage. They will review the types of environmental insurance coverages available to fill gaps left by pollution exclusions in standard liability policies.
Cyber Exposures: Resistance Is Futile
In today’s highly-automated, web-connected world, nearly all businesses are at risk of harm due to the loss, misuse, or corruption of their data or systems. Products have evolved to cover many exposures. These products are categorized as “cyber-insurance” coverages, and they address a broad and variable range of causes of loss from data reconstruction to business interruption to extortion threats, to regulatory investigations, liability to third parties and more. These coverages are complex and are changing and expanding rapidly. In this session, agents will gain a basic working knowledge of the terminology and concepts specific to “cyber-insurance”. They will better understand the bases of “cyber” exposures. Agents will be able to identify and apply the solutions available to address these exposures, including critical coverage elements and common mistakes made when placing this insurance.
Peeking Behind the Curtain - What Makes Professional Liability Tick
Participants will advance their knowledge regarding the purpose and structure of professional liability coverage and policies, as well as, gain an increased technical understanding of exposures and coverages pertinent to both traditional professionals and non-traditional classes of business.
