OVERVIEW AND TOPICS
Concepts That Affect Coverage/Liability
This session will explore the various nuances within contract policy language that affect both property and liability policies.
Named Insureds, Automatic Insureds & Non-Automatic Insureds
Participants will examine the status of Named Insureds, Automatic Insureds, and Non-Automatic Insureds in the Commercial General Liability and Business Auto Coverage Forms. They will learn the primary reasons for adding Additional Insureds, as well as the advantages and disadvantages. For each policy, a brief discussion of who is an insured is necessary to the understanding of why the additional insured endorsement may be needed and how it changes coverage.
Contracts Agents Should Read
Using a question and answer format, participants will discuss some of the pitfalls to look for when reviewing an insured’s property lease agreement. They will review the Legal Liability Coverage Form, Leasehold Interest Coverage Form, the Leased Property Endorsement, and other tools that may assist with this exposure.
Personal Lines Troubles and Solutions
In this session participants will identify the problems and discuss possible solutions to better serve their Personal Homeowners and Auto clients. Prepare to discuss issues related to host liquor liability, coverage for students away at school, damage to residence premises rented to others or premises under renovation, earthquake and flood coverage, and more.
When the Unthinkable Happens...Will the Insurance Values Be Adequate?
The value of insurance-to-value is often overlooked. Overstated values may cause the insured to carry more insurance than necessary, and understated values may cause a devastating financial impact to the insured. In this session, participants learn some of the ways to determine coverage limits and what methods are available to achieve it. They will better understand the definitions, deductibles, endorsements, and coverage options in Personal and Commercial Insurance policies.
