Craig Stanovich | Bio

Craig Stanovich is co-founder and principal consultant of Austin & Stanovich Risk Managers, LLC, a risk management and insurance advisory consulting firm that does not sell insurance. With over thirty-eight years of experience in the risk and insurance industry, including five years as an underwriter for a national insurer and fifteen years as an executive for a regional insurance broker, Craig specializes in most aspects of commercial insurance. He has practical, in-depth experience in several areas, including construction, transportation, and petroleum marketers risk management and insurance. Craig is a regular contributor to various international, national, and local publications. He has served as an Expert Commentator for IRMI for General Liability since 2002. He continues to provide litigation support to the legal community as an expert witness or consultant in cases involving insurance custom and practice as well as complex insurance coverage issues. Craig has served as president of the Central Massachusetts Chapter of CPCU and as past Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Society of Certified Insurance Counselors in Austin, Texas. He is also a National Faculty member of the Society of Certified Insurance Counselors and speaks throughout the country on various commercial insurance topics. Craig graduated from Bridgewater State College with a BS in Education and holds the Associate in Underwriting (AU), CPCU, CIC, and CRM professional designations. He is a Licensed Insurance Advisor in Massachusetts and also holds a producer's license in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, as well as being a Certified Insurance Consultant in Connecticut. Craig is involved in his community and has served seven years on the Town of Holden Finance Committee and six years on the Holden Planning Board. He is involved with his St. Francis Church, Holden, MA, having served on the Vestry as well as Warden.

Patrick Deem | Bio

Patrick Deem began his insurance industry career in December 1969 with USF&G Insurance Company in the Louisville, Kentucky Branch Office. He has been an Underwriting Manager, Sales Manager, Excess and Surplus Lines Underwriter, and an Independent Insurance Agent. Patrick publishes articles and conducts seminars on a state and national basis regarding technical subjects of property and casualty insurance for insurance and trade associations. In addition, Patrick has served as an insurance consultant and testified as an expert witness in various fields associated with the insurance industry. Currently, Patrick is a licensed Risk Manager in Texas. He founded Risk Management and Insurance Education Services in Austin, Texas, an independent company which serves insurance companies, agents, and insureds. Patrick holds the Certified Insurance Counselor designation, which he obtained in 1984. He has been a National Faculty member for The National Alliance for Insurance Education & Research since 1986.

Richard G. Clarke | Bio

Dick Clarke is a veteran of the property/liability insurance industry, having worked as underwriter, broker and consultant through hard and soft market cycles. He was formerly Senior Vice President with the regional brokerage, J. Smith Lanier & Co. headquartered in Georgia, having retired late in 2016. He publishes articles and teaches on a variety of executive liability, cyber and E&O subjects, and functions as an expert witness, a consultant to buyers of commercial insurance, and to insurance companies concerning product development. He is a teacher in CE programs for several professional insurance organizations. His books are listed for purchase on, with the most recent, Executive Liability Insurance: From the Basics to an Advanced Approach having entered its fifth edition in 2012. (This work is currently being updated, with a revised, sixth edition available late in 2019.) Additionally, this book was translated into Japanese for the Risk Management community in Japan, in 2013. Clarke provided content and editing for The National Alliance's on-line course on Directors and Officers Liability insurance (2015 to present), and was an original recipient of the CPCU Society's "Distinguished Instructor in Insurance" award, in 1996. He holds several professional designations.
