What Time Does This Start For Me?

Pacific Mountain Central Eastern

OVERVIEW AND TOPICS

Every insurance agency should establish coverage standards to better serve their clients. Coverage standards include needed coverages and endorsements and avoided endorsements. In this session, participants will review and examine the specific insurance provisions of the Commercial General Liability Policy, Business Auto Policy Coverage Form, Workers Compensation and Employers Liability Insurance Policy, Commercial Umbrella Liability Policy, Commercial Property Policy, and Commercial Crime Policy. They will discuss coverages provided in each policy, as well as endorsements that may be needed to further tailor coverages to the specific exposures.
In this session, agents will explore the basic elements of insurance contracts and the major contract provisions, including waivers of subrogation, exculpatory agreements, and other indemnity requirements. The discussion will extend beyond the Commercial General Liability Coverage Form, and will include the Businessowners Coverage Form, Workers Compensation and Employers Liability Insurance Policy, Building and Personal Property Coverage Form, and Commercial Inland Marine.
Using recent personal lines and commercial lines insurance coverage cases, participants will sit as “jurors” in this interactive session. They will review and discuss the facts of each case and compare their decisions to the actual verdict by the appellate court. They will gain a better understanding of exposures and coverages provided in various insurance coverage forms, such as: Commercial General Liability, Homeowners, Personal Liability Umbrella, Business Auto, Workers Compensation, and Professional Liability.
The trend toward mainstreaming and legitimizing marijuana will continue to have a significant impact on the insurance industry. Participants will explore the opportunities with insuring growers, dispensaries, and other segments of this rapidly growing market. They will discuss cannabis – what is it, how is it grown, harvesting, processing, transportation, and products – to learn how to identify insurable exposures to loss. They will learn how ISO and AAIS approach coverage for these unique risks.
