OVERVIEW AND TOPICS

Emerging risks are newly developing or changing risks that are difficult to quantify, could have a major impact on insureds and the insurance industry, and appear to be evolving at an ever-quickening pace. In this session, participants will gain a better understanding of emerging risk exposures for personal vehicle sharing, home sharing, Trusts and LLCs, drones, fracking, boomerang kids, going green, and driverless autos. They will discuss coverage issues and gaps with traditional insurance policies and possible insurance solutions.
Participants will examine the leading causes of error and omission claims against agents, owners, and agencies. They will discuss why and how to build an internal E&O Loss Control Program. They will discuss potential exposures, recognize how to minimize the exposures, and know what to do if a claim is made.
Participants will gain a better understanding of cyber risk exposures and why businesses need cyber liability coverage. They will examine first-party and third-party exposures related to cyber risks, coverage limitations in standard liability policies, and major provisions commonly found in cyber liability insurance policies. They will review solutions that include cyberspace specific products and risk management.
Participants will examine the business income exposure including coverage triggers, coinsurance, and optional coverages. They will better understand the loss exposure analysis process, documentation, and calculations required to fulfill contractual requirements and to receive adequate and timely compensation for a covered loss.
