OVERVIEW AND TOPICS

Participants attending this session will be able to identify and analyze the liability exposures associated with the sale or gift of alcoholic beverages (including both common law and statutory law) from the perspective of social hosts, as well as licensees/permitees. They will review the Liquor Liability Coverage Form in depth, as well as endorsements that will further restrict or broaden coverage.
In this session, agents will explore the basic elements of insurance contracts and the major contract provisions, including waivers of subrogation, exculpatory agreements, and other indemnity requirements. The discussion will extend beyond the Commercial General Liability Coverage Form, and will include the Businessowners Coverage Form, Workers Compensation and Employers Liability Insurance Policy, Building and Personal Property Coverage Form, and Commercial Inland Marine.
Participants will discuss the importance of ethical behavior. What is it? Why is it important? How does an insurance agency develop it and incorporate it in the remote workforce? In this session, participants will review the professional, legal, and ethical responsibilities in dealing with the day-to-day realities of the complex, ethical issues of the insurance industry. They will discuss the key to ethical decision making. They will examine how to create an ethical team environment in the insurance agency.
In this 4-hour session, insurance professionals will learn the key coverage features in the ISO Commercial General Liability (CGL) policy that are most important for their contracting clients. They will discuss the Bodily Injury and Property Damage Liability Insuring agreement and the exclusions most important to contractors. They will explore various ways that insurers can modify, enhance, and/or restrict coverage with the use of endorsements.
Certificates of Insurance and the related issue of Additional Insureds are often sources of frustration, confusion, and E&O claims for the insurance producer. In this session, agents will review critical things to consider before issuing a certificate and identify ways to avoid some of the common problems and errors. They will discuss Additional Insureds in-depth, how they work, and how coverage is limited, as well as some common problems that can arise. The course will review the most commonly used Additional Insured Endorsements and examine requests frequently made of agents that may be problematic.
