OVERVIEW AND TOPICS

Participants will examine the leading causes of error and omission claims against agents, owners, and agencies. They will discuss why and how to build an internal E&O Loss Control Program. They will discuss potential exposures, recognize how to minimize the exposures, and know what to do if a claim is made.
The insurance industry is built on the principles of trust and responsibility. Compliance, ethics, and integrity are crucial for building customer trust and ensuring stability. Strong ethical practices are fundamental to effective insurance operations, guiding daily decisions and cultivating enduring client relationships. Sound ethical principles promote a culture of integrity, which in turn enhances trust between insurers and policyholders, improves reputation, and guarantees fair practices. Participants will explore the similarities and differences between ethics and integrity, examining how each concept impacts professional behavior. Participants will learn to articulate the importance of both in the insurance sector. Through a series of case scenarios, they will apply the ethical principles discussed. Interactive discussions will enhance their ability to identify ethical challenges, make informed decisions, and maintain the highest standards of professional conduct.
This course provides a brief history of the ISO Commercial General Liability (CGL) and highlights key coverage modifications introduced in the 2026 multistate revision of the CGL Coverage Form. This course will focus on how these changes affect coverage, particularly concerning revised exclusions related to electronic data, personal injury, advertising injury, data privacy, employment-related practices, professional liability, liquor liability, exterior insulation and finish systems (EIFS), automatic insureds, contract liability, product withdrawal, and cannabis. Additionally, updates to conditions and definitions within the coverage form will be reviewed. Participants will analyze case law and state statutes that led to these clarifying changes, as well as revisions to existing endorsements, identification of withdrawn endorsements, and the introduction of new multistate endorsements. This course will equip participants to interpret and apply the 2026 CGL revisions in their job roles.
Participants will take an in-depth look at the business income exposure. They will review business continuation plans, policy language and its effects on the insured, pros and cons of various endorsements, the use of the Extra Expense Coverage Form and the Leasehold Interest Coverage Form, and more.
