Doug Fleming | Bio


Doug Fleming began his career in the life insurance business in 1971 with the Boston Agency of The Connecticut Mutual Life. After 10 years of personal production, Doug was named to a management position as new agent Training Supervisor, a position he held for five years. He then joined Berkshire Life as Agency Supervisor, a position he held for ten years. He is currently involved with the Boston Agency of Ameritas Life in the brokerage area. In 2004, he assumed the duties of Ed. Consultant for the PIA of NY, NJ & CT in their CIC program. Doug moderates licensing and continuing education classes for the Massachusetts Association of Insurance Agents, and also provides continuing education classes to the insurance industry in the greater Boston area. In 1990, he was named to the associate faculty, Insurance and Financial Services Department, Northeastern University, in Boston. He is a member of the National Faculty for the Society of Certified Insurance Counselors. In 2005, Doug assumed the duties of educational consultant for the PIA of New York, New Jersey & Connecticut in their CIC Program.

Thomas R. Sanders | Bio


Tom Sanders has a background in the Insurance Industry that dates back to the late 1970's, where he started in production with a Life and Health Carrier in Iowa, soon after, he worked in training & marketing for the same carrier in Ohio and Michigan. In 1986 Tom purchased a Property and Casualty Agency to complement his Life, Health, and Group clients. In 1994 Tom began instructing for Ohio Insurance Agents as well as with The National Alliance. He was awarded the prestigious Jack V. Hedges Educator of the Year Award by the PIA of Ohio in 1999. He also serves on the National Faculty for CIC & CISR. Currently Tom is President of Sanders Insurance Services Inc. In 2016 Sanders Insurance merged their Property & Casualty book with another Agency in the County. Tom now focuses on Elder Care Planning using Life, LTC and Annuity products.

Victor A. Puleo | Bio


Dr. Victor Puleo is the Davey Chair of Risk Management and Insurance in the Lacy School of Business at Butler University, Indianapolis, IN. He earned a doctorate degree in risk management and insurance at Florida State University. Dr. Puleo has articles published in the Journal of Insurance Issues, Risk Management and Insurance Review, Managerial Finance, and Best's Review. The Davey Risk Management and Insurance Program at Butler University equips students with a variety of experiential education - including two required for-credit internships. Butler University's College of Business is the top-ranked business school in the country for internships according to Bloomberg Businessweek's rankings. Highlights of the Davey Risk Management and Insurance Program include the first-of-its-kind student-run captive insurance company, lifelong career mentors, two required for-credit internships, student attendance at national and regional industry events, classroom case studies, and an elite chapter of Gamma Iota Sigma - the international collegiate insurance, risk management and actuarial student fraternity. Dr. Puleo is a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and Certified Financial Planner ™ Certificant. He is an Educational Consultant (1994) and National Faculty Member (2008) for the Society of Certified Insurance Counselors. Dr. Puleo is a member of the Board of Directors and Chair of The National Alliance Research Academy. Prior to being named the Davey Chair of Risk Management and Insurance, Dr. Puleo was an Associate Professor of Insurance and Risk Management at the University of Central Arkansas (UCA), Conway, AR. The insurance and risk management undergraduate degree program at UCA is nationally ranked. Students from UCA were the first in the country to be conferred the University Associate Certified Insurance Counselor (UACIC) designation. The UACIC designation was created to give college students pursuing an insurance and risk management undergraduate degree the opportunity to attain a new level of professionalism through advanced practical education while in college. This designation is a program of the National Alliance Research Academy.
