OVERVIEW AND TOPICS

Nearly all commercial businesses have cyber exposures. New exposures and insurance coverages are changing and emerging rapidly. In this session, participants will gain a working knowledge of the terminology and concepts specific to cyber insurance, as well as discuss the need for Cyber Liability Coverage. They will discuss issues, such as: first-party and third-party exposures related to cyber risks, coverage limitations in standard liability policies, and major provisions commonly found in cyber liability insurance policies. They will look at insurance issues with Commercial General Liability, Employment Practices Liability, Directors and Officers Liability, Crime, and Professional Liability policies.
Take an in-depth look at specific coverages involving the ISO Commercial General Liability form, including premises and business operations, product and completed operations, contractual, contingent, and personal and advertising injury liability. Identify selected CGL exclusions and the impact on their clients. Learn how specific endorsements can amend policy provisions, add coverage, increase or decrease coverage limits, or restrict coverage. Examine the status of additional insured in the CGL Policy. Discuss who is an insured, why the additional insured endorsement may be needed, and the impact of the endorsement on the coverage.
Participants will identify the gaps and traps in the ISO Business Auto Policy and learn ways to avoid and/or close the gaps in coverage. They will examine BAP endorsements and discuss how they can amend policy provisions, add coverage, or restrict coverage. They will be able to determine how best to address their client’s needs to avoid the gaps and traps in coverage.
Participants will analyze significant current issues encountered when writing homeowners and personal automobile coverages. They will examine coverages and exclusions provided in the latest edition of the Homeowners Policy and Personal Auto Policy. They will discuss how the HO Policy provides or excludes coverage for exposures, such as: home occupancy, vandalism, vacancy, borrowed property, increased cost of construction due to ordinance or loss. They will examine how the PAP provides or excludes coverage for exposures, such as: newly acquired autos, temporary substitute autos, furnished autos, use of personal auto on behalf of an employer, underage driver joyriding in parent’s vehicle, and legal responsibility under a rental car contract.
