OVERVIEW AND TOPICS
Claims-Made and Select Coverages: Employment Practices Liability and Cyber
Insurance professionals will learn the difference between occurrence and claims-made coverage triggers in the ISO Commercial General Liability Coverage Form, as well as endorsements that may restrict coverage. They will discuss important concepts such as retroactive date, extending reporting period, and prior and pending litigation date. They will identify some common coverage features of professional and management liability policies, such as: defense provisions, consent to settle clauses, and treatment of punitive damages. They will examine coverage under two policies commonly written on a claims-made basis, Employment Practices Liability and Cyber. In the discussion of EPLI, they will discuss sources of employment-related claims, who is insured and what is covered, third-party liability, and exclusions. In the discussion of cyber crime, they will identify common exposures and threats for businesses, first-party and third-party coverages.
