What Time Does This Start For Me?

Pacific Mountain Central Eastern

OVERVIEW AND TOPICS

Insurance producers should familiarize themselves with certain key concepts before writing commercial coverages for clients. Agents will examine various questions and claims scenarios using policies such as Commercial General Liability, Business Auto, Excess/Umbrella, and Commercial Property. Topics for discussion will include whether some bodily injury encompasses mental anguish and how the CGL responds to claims involving damage to data and cyber incidents. Participants will also review issues concerning care, custody, or control, the damage to property exclusion, and employee injury claims. Through several case scenarios, they will evaluate how the CGL, Business Auto, and Commercial Property policies provide or exclude coverage. Additionally, the discussion will cover primary/noncontributory coverage requests and property-related topics, including covered property, debris removal, and ordinance or law. Relevant court cases will be referenced to understand how judicial interpretations are shaping insurance policy language.
