OVERVIEW AND TOPICS
Contract Analysis for the Insurance Professional for The Food & Beverage Industry
As with most businesses, food and beverage clients sign contracts on a regular basis. But do they realize how those contracts can affect their insurance coverage, or if insurance provides protection at all? This section will look at the importance of contract review and provide insight into the important parts of the contract that affect insurance. While agents are not attorneys, they do have the responsibility to their customers to review all their exposures. The course will explore the importance of understanding how waivers of subrogation, hold harmless/indemnification, and other contractual requirements.
Recipes for Commercial Property Coverages for the Food & Beverage Industry
Property coverage can seem clearcut at first glance, but a deeper look can reveal some easily overlooked, but important, coverages. Food and beverage customers have property they own and/or lease, and property of others in the care, custody, or control. Knowing how to properly insure this property is key to writing proper coverage. From tenants’ improvements and betterments, to insuring the entire building, participants will look at exposures and coverages that are key to writing risks with food and beverage exposures.
Commercial Casualty Recipes – Coverages for the Food & Beverage Industry
This section focuses on helping insurance professionals identify and evaluate commercial casualty exposures specific to the food and beverage industry. Participants will review key provisions within the Commercial General Liability Coverage Form, Business Auto Coverage Form, and Liquor Liability Coverage Form, gaining insight into how these policies address industry-specific risks. This also explores endorsements that may either broaden or restrict coverage, enabling agents to tailor protection to their clients’ needs. By the end of the section, agents will be equipped to recognize critical liability exposures and recommend appropriate coverage enhancements for food and beverage operations.
EPLI & Cyber Coverages for the Food & Beverage Industry
In this section, participants will review the exposures businesses in the food and beverage space face, from employment-related incidents. The course will review the primary insuring agreement, as well as coverage for third-party exposures. A review of selected exclusions and conditions, consent to settle clauses, and claims reporting is also included. From there, participants will look at cyber exposures related to the food and beverage industry, such as reservation information, credit card transactions, and supply ordering. A detailed review of PCI DSS compliance, along with the related penalties, use of third-party merchant services agreements, business interruption, and reputational costs are also included.
