Kathleen F. Silvia | Bio

Kathleen Silvia is President/Owner of the Fair Insurance Agency in Centerville, Massachusetts. She has been in the insurance industry for over 35 years. Kathleen is Past-President of the Massachusetts Association of Insurance Women, Past-President of the Massachusetts Association of Insurance Agents, and is a past National Director to the National PIA. She has chaired the Technical Committee for National PIA, and has served as a liaison to the ISO Personal Lines Committee. Kathleen earned her CIC designation in 1980. She served as a member of the Board of Certified Insurance Service Representatives from 1997-2003 and served as its Chair in 2001. Kathy has been teaching for MAIA since 2004, and was named to the CIC National Faculty in 2014.

Patrick A. Deem | Bio

Patrick Deem began his insurance industry career in December 1969 with USF&G Insurance Company in the Louisville, Kentucky Branch Office. He has been an Underwriting Manager, Sales Manager, Excess and Surplus Lines Underwriter, and an Independent Insurance Agent. Patrick publishes articles and conducts seminars on a state and national basis regarding technical subjects of property and casualty insurance for insurance and trade associations. In addition, Patrick has served as an insurance consultant and testified as an expert witness in various fields associated with the insurance industry. Currently, Patrick is a licensed Risk Manager in Texas. He founded Risk Management and Insurance Education Services in Austin, Texas, an independent company which serves insurance companies, agents, and insureds. Patrick holds the Certified Insurance Counselor designation, which he obtained in 1984. He has been a National Faculty member for The National Alliance for Insurance Education & Research since 1986.

Scott A. Treen | Bio

Scott Treen is the President of Treen Insurance Agency in Jefferson, Ohio. He has more than 30 years of experience as an insurance professional. He earned a bachelor's degree from Youngstown State University in 1981 and holds the CPIA designation and earned his CIC designation in 1999. Scott received the Jack V Hedges Educator of the year award in 2007 from the Professional Insurance Agents of Ohio and is on the National Faculty for the National Alliance. Scott has taught for CISR, CIC, LUTCF, CPIA and other professional development courses and speaks to various civic groups. He has also taught insurance related curriculum to high school students. He was past president of the Ashtabula County Life Underwriters Association.
