John H. Earl | Bio


John Earl is an Associate Professor of Finance and Chair of the Finance Department at the Robins School of Business at the University of Richmond. He has a Bachelors and Masters degree in finance from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and a PhD in finance from Arizona State University. John has taught at Richmond since 1981, and teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in corporate finance, security analysis and portfolio management, and alternative asset classes. Prior to 1981, he was an instructor at ASU. John is the CIC Education Consultant for the state of Virginia as well as a CRM Education Consultant. He serves on the National Faculty for CRM and Ruble Seminars. John teaches seminars on finance for non-financial managers, to numerous corporations, and teaches in Richmond's mini-MBA program.

Marcia Linton | Bio


Marcia Linton is a Senior Vice President and National Analytics Practice Leader for USI Insurance Services. The analytics practice provides financial, risk data and property analytical consulting for risk management customers. Services include loss forecasting and accrual studies; collateral analysis; risk retention analysis; program comparisons and cash flow modeling; cost of risk allocation; and risk bearing capacity analysis. Marcia has over 20 years of experience with USI Insurance Services and its predecessors. Her prior experience includes work as a financial analyst for a national broker, and as a commercial loan portfolio manager and assistant branch manager in the commercial banking industry. She has been in financial services since 1988 and in the insurance industry since 1994. Marcia has been a featured speaker on risk management to a number of groups, including several presentations on Actuarial Reports and Collateral Analysis to the national Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS) annual conference. She earned her CRM designation in 2003 and currently serves as a faculty member for the National Alliance Certified Risk Manager Program. Marcia has an MBA in Risk Management and Finance from the University of Georgia and a B.S. in Finance from the University of Florida. She holds the Associate in Risk Management (ARM) and the Certified Risk Manager (CRM) designations.

Timothy Wander | Bio


Tim Wander is the Risk Manager for GEICO Insurance Company since 2005. He has been in the insurance industry since 1985, and with GEICO since 1989, holding management positions in Underwriting, Claims, Product Development, and Product Management. Tim earned his CRM designation in 2018, and currently serves as a faculty member for the National Alliance Certified Risk Manager Program. He has an MBA from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, and B.S. in Finance from the University of Idaho. He holds the RIMS Fellow designation from the Risk and Insurance Management Society, and the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Associate in Risk Management (ARM), and Associate in Claims (AIC) designations from the American Institute for Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters. He has been teaching CPCU courses since 1996 and was recognized as an Outstanding Course Leader by the American Institute for Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters. Tim was past President of the District of Columbia CPCU Society Chapter, and past President of the Insurance Professionals Group in Fredericksburg, Virginia. He has presented at the Virginia Business Education Teachers conference on insurance topics, and educational workshops to the public on personal insurance. He is a member of the CPCU Society, the Risk and Insurance Management Society, and the National Alliance.
