Homeowners Property Endorsements
Participants will take an in-depth look at Homeowners Property Endorsements. They will learn the types of endorsements and the reasons for their use. Discussion includes Coverage A – Dwelling and Coverage B – Other Structures, Mechanical Breakdown Coverage, Green Upgrades Coverage, Personal Property, Loss Settlement, and more. They will be able to explain the advantages and disadvantages for using these endorsements. They will examine how these endorsements may impact coverage for their client.
Flood Insurance for Personal Lines
Participants will learn the reasons why flood insurance should be recommended to their personal lines clients. They will examine coverage provided by the NFIP and the Dwelling Form Standard Flood Insurance Policy, including the policy provisions and conditions unique to the flood policy. They will compare coverage provided by the flood policy and the Homeowners Policy.
Personal Umbrella/Excess Liability
After an overview of this important insurance product, participants will be able to describe the concepts of why it is needed. They will review the characteristics of a typical umbrella/excess liability policy. They will be able to explain the differences between a Personal Umbrella Policy, Excess Liability (Following Form) Policy, and a Hybrid Umbrella/Excess Policy, including general provisions and exclusions. They will discuss underling insurance and the importance of maintaining the underlying requirements. Using real-life scenarios, they will review how a Personal Umbrella Policy will respond in the event of a loss.
