OVERVIEW AND TOPICS
A Problems and Solutions Approach to Personal Auto Insurance
Participants will examine several of the common questions asked by consumers today about coverage provided by their Personal Auto Policy. Using real-life case scenarios, they will identify rental car exposures and furnished vehicle exposures. They will determine whether coverage is provided or not provided by the Personal Auto Policy and/or Business Auto Coverage form. They will discuss possible solutions and identify endorsements that may be used to modify coverage.
A Problems and Solutions Approach to Homeowners Insurance
Using a question and answer approach, participants will identify exposures faced by Homeowners and learn how the ISO Homeowners Form would respond. Each exposure area will be presented using the situational analysis method. Participants will then go through a problem identification process that will lead to a solution and preferred outcome to the exposure. The exposure areas will include, but not be limited to, business operations, contractual liability, and watercraft coverage.
Personal Umbrella Coverage
After an overview of this important insurance product, participants will be able to explain to their clients the need for Personal Umbrella coverage, the primary functions of these policies, and the types of policies. They will examine the differences between a Personal Umbrella Policy, Excess Liability (Following Form) Policy, and a Hybrid Umbrella/Excess Policy, including general provisions and exclusions, and the relationship to primary insurance. They will discuss the underlying coverage requirements and coverage issues. They will review a Personal Umbrella Policy including the insuring agreement, defined terms, and policy exclusions. They will be able to apply this knowledge to identify areas to compare when determining the policy that best fits the unique needs of each client.
