OVERVIEW AND TOPICS

Participants will analyze specific Business Auto coverage situations that may cause problems for insureds, agencies, and companies. Using real-life scenarios, they will examine how the BAP provides or excludes coverage. They will learn how to provide coverage for an exposure if it is excluded or limited by the policy in order to best meet their client’s needs.
Using case scenarios, participants will learn how the CGL, Workers Compensation, and Commercial Property policies provide or exclude coverage. They will understand the CGL insuring agreement, contractual liability, additional insured issues, BI covered loss, BOP-valuable papers, workers compensation-international coverage, certificates of insurance and more. Agents will identify methods of covering the loss if it were excluded and review the outcome of each case.
Many insureds look to their insurance agent for risk management tips and advice in a variety of circumstances. Among the most notable of those circumstances are employee-related issues. In this session, participants will learn how they can effectively advise an insured about multiple risk management issues in human resources related matters by presenting a comprehensive, systematic approach to employment issues. After an overview of employment practices, they will examine employee benefits, how benefits should be administered, and the insurance implications. They will discuss contingent coverage available on the standard ISO Commercial General Liability Policy and an overview of Fiduciary Liability Coverage. Agents will review the ISO standard EPL Policy form and discuss the hot topics in the area of EPLI coverage and risk.
Participants will track through the claims and coverage questions arising in a serious construction injury case from beginning to end. The topics address the property and casualty insurance coverages that can be impacted. It will include an injured employee’s lawsuit and its relationship to worker’s compensation, liabilities for the condition of a construction site, and if there is insurance coverage for the construction site condition. The subject will close with how to address defective construction claims and indemnity claims in general.
