OVERVIEW AND TOPICS
Exploring Personal Auto Claims & Coverage Scenarios
Using various case scenarios, adjusters will review the most current ISO Personal Auto Policy and endorsements to determine if the loss or situation is covered. They will discuss the claims and coverage scenarios, determine if the loss or situation is covered, and identify endorsements that may be needed to cover or expand coverage for the exposure. They will examine how the PAP provides or excludes coverage for exposures, such as: replacement vehicles, roommates driving covered autos, truck rental for personal use, hitting an animal, sunken car leaking oil in a lake, newly acquired autos, unlisted vehicles, vehicles used for livery and/or delivery, rental car, loading and unloading a vehicle, driving for Uber, death of a foster child, named insureds and divorce, and more. They will identify the problems and discuss possible solutions to better serve their clients.
Answering Difficult Commercial Lines Questions
Participants will analyze significant commercial lines coverage issues that can create problems for their clients. They will examine coverages and exclusions provided in the latest edition of the ISO Business Auto, Commercial General Liability, and Commercial Property forms and endorsements. They will discuss business auto symbols, pollution cleanup expenses, temporary substitute auto, loading and unloading exposures, and drive other car coverage. They will learn if a person can be an insured on more than one CGL policy, what is the coverage territory for completed operations coverage, what are severability of interest and cross liability, and what is meant by primary and non-contributory insurance. They will discuss issues related to leased property, power failure, “state of collapse,” theft of property in an undescribed building, and how much debris removal coverage is needed. They will learn about the problems and discuss possible solutions to better serve their clients.
Concepts That Affect Coverage/Liability
This session will explore the various nuances within contract policy language that affect both property and liability policies.
Agency Coverage Standards
Every insurance agency should establish coverage standards to better serve their clients. Coverage standards include needed coverages and endorsements and avoided endorsements. In this session, participants will review and examine the specific insurance provisions of the Commercial General Liability Policy, Business Auto Policy Coverage Form, Workers Compensation and Employers Liability Insurance Policy, Commercial Umbrella Liability Policy, Commercial Property Policy, and Commercial Crime Policy. They will discuss coverages provided in each policy, as well as endorsements that may be needed to further tailor coverages to the specific exposures.
