OVERVIEW AND TOPICS

The value of insurance-to-value is often overlooked. Overstated values may cause the insured to carry more insurance than necessary, and understated values may cause a devastating financial impact to the insured. In this session, participants learn some of the ways to determine coverage limits and what methods are available to achieve it. They will better understand the definitions, deductibles, endorsements, and coverage options in Personal and Commercial Insurance policies.
In this session, agents will review the occurrence and claims-made forms and examine the difference in coverage triggers. They will be able to explain the difference between the pure claims made and the more common claims-made and reported forms of coverage. Using real-life examples and court cases, they will identify coverage gaps and discuss ways to avoid them. They will have a better understanding of the Commercial General Liability Occurrence and Claims-Made coverage forms, including the advantages and disadvantages of each.
Agents will examine the areas of environmental exposures faced by businesses and organizations, as well as the legal concepts and remedies related to environmental legal liability of persons or organizations. They will be able to identify sources of environmental liability based upon important Federal Environmental Statutes. They will examine the pollution exclusions found in the CGL, BAP, Umbrella, Directors & Officers, Professional Liability, and Property forms, and be able to identify endorsements that modify the exclusions to add or restrict coverage. They will review the types of environmental insurance coverages available to fill gaps left by pollution exclusions in standard liability policies.
Participants will gain a better understanding of cyber risk exposures and why businesses need cyber liability coverage. They will examine first-party and third-party exposures related to cyber risks, coverage limitations in standard liability policies, and major provisions commonly found in cyber liability insurance policies. They will review solutions that include cyberspace specific products and risk management.
