Personal Lines Hot Topics
Participants will learn how the Personal Automobile Policy relates to rental cars, use of company cars for personal use, and use of personal autos for business purposes. They will understand the unendorsed Personal Automobile Policy coverage limitations on electronic equipment, custom accessories, and vehicle valuation, and know how to address them. They will review exposures from catastrophic events and the loss issues that result. They will examine identity theft exposure and how the Homeowners Policy can be endorsed to provide protection. They will learn the proper way to insure condominiums, including adequate insurance limits, coverage, and protection from loss assessments.
Toys, Toys and More Toys!
ATVs, dirt bikes, Segway, watercraft, and other motorized toys – Oh My! In this session, participants will gain an understanding of exposures for owning and renting recreational vehicles and learn just how much coverage is provided through the ISO Personal Automobile and Homeowners policies – including available endorsements. As well, participants will explore coverage within recreational vehicle policies, motorcycle policies, watercraft policies, and the Personal Umbrella policy.
The Impaired and the Shared Economy and Insurance Implications
The primary focus of this session is on ridesharing and home sharing as examples of the new economy and the new way of doing business. Participants will discuss Homeowners and Personal Auto coverage issues that arise from these changes. The latter half of the presentation concentrates on the insurance issues related to national and state changes in marijuana possession and use laws.
Ethical Issues
In this session, participants will understand ethical challenges that insurance professionals face, difference between legal and ethical responsibilities and their fiduciary duties and obligations to the customer, insurer, and peers.
