This session is for inquiring minds who want to better understand captive insurance. What is a captive? What is the purpose of a captive? Participants will examine analyses of single parent, group, and rent-a-captives, and discuss the type of funding mechanism utilized in each. They will discuss the pros and cons of the captive mechanism from the standpoint of the captive and its member.
Workers Compensation is a necessity for almost every business, but it can be complex. How can the cost of workers compensation to be controlled effectively? During this session, you will learn about alternate funding options for workers compensation exposures. You will examine Guaranteed Cost Plans, Retrospective Rating Plans, Large Deductible Plans, Rent-a-Captives, and Self-Insurance.
The risk of damage from flood exists in nearly every community. Agents will examine the National Flood Insurance Program and learn about the unique aspects of the coverage from the mountains to the coast. They will review recent changes and discuss contemplated changes. They will take a look at the North Carolina Association and the interaction with flood coverage.
Using various claim situations, insurance professionals will identify some common coverage issues that create problems. They will discuss issues related to setting building limits, coinsurance, valuation, business auto symbols, drive other car coverage, damage to property, liquor liability, and loading and unloading. They will review the appropriate policy and endorsements and determine whether coverage is provided and how best to address any gaps in coverage.
