John F. Kitson | Bio


John Kitson is an independent insurance instructor and consultant. John has been a part of The National Alliance for Insurance Education and Research program for more than 20 years as a CISR and CIC instructor. He spent three years as the Director of Education for the Insurors of Tennessee. Prior to his position with the association, he was a Commercial Lines Underwriter/Manager for several insurance carriers. John began his career with Continental Insurance Company as a CBP underwriter. Following that, he spent a year with Crum & Forster as a Property/Package Underwriter. From there he went to work for AID Insurance (now part of Nationwide). Next in his travels was Home Insurance, (where he got to watch and see how the hard market really works). Finally, he joined St. Paul Fire and Marine Insurance as a Commercial Underwriter. He also spent a year as a Surplus Lines Underwriter before being transferred to Nashville as the Commercial Underwriting Manager and Resident Manager. He has also worked directly with several insurance agencies in the area of education. Education has always been important to John. He passed the INS General Program in the first year of his insurance career. He attained the CPCU designation in 1983, the AU in 1992, the AIM in 1993, and his CIC designation in 2004. He has also served on the board of directors of the Mid-Tennessee CPCU Chapter.

Keith Wilts | Bio


Keith Wilts is President of Professional Training Associates, Inc. (PTA), a national education management and training company, whose focus is the development and delivery of live web-based education programs. With over 38 years of experience involving production and consulting activities on both personal and commercial accounts, Keith presents more than 100 webinars and seminars annually. Keith is a member of the National Faculty for the Society of Certified Insurance Counselors (CIC), teaching at the CIC institutes and James K. Ruble Graduate Seminars. In addition, he serves as an educational consultant for the Society of CIC and the Missouri Association of Insurance Agents. Keith previously served as Director of Education for the Independent Insurance Agents of Kentucky. He also was a member of the National Education Committee and the National ACSR Exam Review Committee for the Independent Insurance Agents of America, the License Administration Committee for the Kentucky Department of Insurance, and as education chairperson for the Kentucky Chapter of CPCU.

Tim L. McClendon | Bio


Tim McClendon began his insurance career in 1972. His training included several years with a major carrier in all facets of the property and casualty business. Tim is Managing Partner of Hertel McClendon, L.L.P. in Fort Worth, Texas. The agency maintains an additional location in Austin, Texas. The agency is affiliated with Insurors Group, L.L.C., comprised of twelve professional agencies in Fort Worth, Austin and all over Texas. Tim earned the Certified Insurance Counselor professional designation in 1977, the Certified Workers Compensation Advisor designation in 2004, and is a licensed risk manager. His clients include manufacturers, printers, law firms, technology, retail and contracting risks. A graduate of Texas Christian University, Tim holds a BBA degree in Management. He is a member of the TCU Lettermen's Association and the TCU Alumni Association. As a member of the Society of Certified Insurance Counselors National Faculty, Tim teaches insurance courses throughout Texas and around the country including Certified Insurance Service Representatives, Certified Insurance Counselors and Ruble Seminars. Tim was chosen as one of seven charter members of The National Alliance's Distinguished Faculty in 2014. He is a past chairman of the Board of Governors for the Society of CISR. Tim recently served as Chairman of the Technical Affairs Committee for the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America and is a past chairman of Mid-America Insurance Conference. He is a past "Teacher of the Year" for Professional Insurance Agents of Texas and has been a member of the adjunct faculty teaching insurance and risk management courses for the M. J. Neeley School of Business at TCU. He has taught classes for the University of Dallas MBA program, the Independent Insurance Agents of Texas, CPCU Society, CFP program and in-house classes for many insurance carriers and agencies. Tim also serves as an expert witness in insurance-related litigation.
