OVERVIEW AND TOPICS
EPLI - Why Don't Agencies Sell This Coverage?
Participants will review where it all began from the early days of race discrimination lawsuits against major corporations to today’s sexual harassment and/or preference, age discrimination, hostile work environments, wrongful termination, invasion of privacy, national origin, retaliation (whistle blower) against any employer, and more. They will examine issues to address when identifying a client’s exposures and preventative steps that may be taken. They will explore coverages provided in an EPLI policy and how to compare EPLI policies.
Covered or Not Covered - The Claims Continue (Personal Lines)
Participants will look at what is covered and not covered in the most recent ISO personal lines insurance policies. They will review real claims, as well as possible claims, and discuss the Personal Auto and Homeowners policies in depth to identify where coverage may or may not be found.
Realities and Rewards of Retirement Planning
Participants will gain an understanding of the need for retirement planning. They will learn how qualified plans can best provide the most cost-efficient method of accumulating retirement dollars. They will analyze various types of retirement funding mechanisms, including 401(k) plans, Individual Retirement Accounts (IRA), Roth IRA, Simplified Employee Pension plans (SEP), Savings Incentive Match Plans for Employees (SIMPLE), and Annuities. They will discuss ways to bring the retirement plan together.
Projecting Ethics into a Competitive Advantage
Participants will explore how agents balance their profitability with their legal and fiduciary responsibilities while at the same time attempt to attract new business in a very competitive marketplace. They will understand the importance of ethical conduct in handling client information, insurance company applications, policy service/delivery and claims. This will include both standard markets and excess and surplus lines.
Long Term Care Insurance: Protecting Your Assets
After an overview of Long-Term Care, participants will understand the need for LTC, what it is, what it costs, what services it covers, and who should purchase it. They will review the purpose and goals of the Partnership Program, the minimum standards required, the benefits, as well as the drawbacks.
When the Unthinkable Happens…Will the Insurance Values Be Adequate?
The value of insurance-to-value is often overlooked. Overstated values may cause the insured to carry more insurance than necessary, and understated values may cause a devastating financial impact to the insured. In this session, participants learn some of the ways to determine coverage limits and what methods are available to achieve it. They will better understand the definitions, deductibles, endorsements, and coverage options in Personal and Commercial Insurance policies.
