David Sheets | Bio

David Sheets is Vice-President of Mid America Banking Insurance Services (MABIS), Inc. which is a division of the Iowa Bankers Insurance and Services, Inc., headquartered in Johnston, Iowa. David has a B.S in Management from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale and an MBA from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville. He received his CIC designation in 2005 and his CRM designation in 2011. David has been active in the Risk Management and Insurance professions for more than 30 years. David is an Associate Professor in the MBA Program at McKendree University, Lebanon, IL and an Adjunct Faculty Member, since 1991, for Southern Illinois University's Off-Campus Programs. David teaches various courses including Risk Management, General Management, Finance, Stakeholder Management, Ethics and Marketing among others. David has been an active member of the independent agency system for many years; owning an independent agency for several years and then recruiting, training and developing independent agencies for ERIE Insurance Group. In his current position with MABIS, David has been instrumental in developing markets and independent agency relationships in Illinois and Missouri. His blend of hands-on, educational, and managerial experiences provides a unique perspective to share with working professional insurance agents.

J. Chappy Chapman | Bio

Chappy Chapman is Chief Growth Officer of Correll Insurance Group, a privately-held independent insurance agency with 25 offices throughout South Carolina, North Carolina and Eastern Tennessee. He also serves as Agency Manager of the Spartanburg, South Carolina Office and Senior Account Executive with Correll Insurance of Hilton Head, South Carolina. Prior to joining Correll, Chappy was an account executive with Riley & Associates, an independent insurance agency that has been in operation in the Charleston area since 1936. Before joining Riley & Associates, for six years, Chappy served as General Manager of White Insurance Group, an independent insurance agency with offices in Black Mountain and Arden, North Carolina. He began his insurance career in 1974, after graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of South Carolina. The majority of Chappy's experience has been in the Independent Agency System; however, he has spent time on the company side as Marketing Manager of Old Charleston Insurance Company and Branch Manager of Medical Mutual Insurance Company of North Carolina. Additionally, Chappy has served as Director of Education for the Independent Insurance Agents of South Carolina. He is a member of The National Alliance National Faculty and is an Educational Consultant of the Society of Certified Insurance Counselors. He earned his Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation in 1980 and he has also earned his Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation.

John H. Earl | Bio

John Earl is an Associate Professor of Finance and Chair of the Finance Department at the Robins School of Business at the University of Richmond. He has a Bachelors and Masters degree in finance from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and a PhD in finance from Arizona State University. John has taught at Richmond since 1981, and teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in corporate finance, security analysis and portfolio management, and alternative asset classes. Prior to 1981, he was an instructor at ASU. John is the CIC Education Consultant for the state of Virginia as well as a CRM Education Consultant. He serves on the National Faculty for CRM and Ruble Seminars. John teaches seminars on finance for non-financial managers, to numerous corporations, and teaches in Richmond's mini-MBA program.
