OVERVIEW AND TOPICS
Navigating Federal Workers Compensation
Many insurance professionals are familiar with workers’ compensation insurance. However, when it comes to protections for those whose employment is not subject to state WC laws, the solutions, benefits, and methods for security coverage are not as widely known. In this session, participants will take an in-depth look at the most common WC coverages available under federal law referred to as “federal coverages.” They will examine the Defense Base Act (DBA), Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act (OCSLA), Federal Employers Act (FELA), Longshore and Harbor Workers Act, Maritime Employers Liability, Merchant Marine Act (the Jones Act), protection and indemnity, and all forms of marine exposure for employees.
Navigating Waterfront Exposures
Participants will examine and discuss exposures and coverages that relate to marine operators, boat dealers and repairers, marine contractors, boat manufacturers and builders, commercial vessels, sightseeing and casino boats, and charter boats.
Business Auto Policy Endorsements Why and Why Not
Participants will take an in-depth look at endorsements that modify the Business Automobile Coverage form. They will learn how specific endorsements can amend policy provisions, add coverage, or restrict coverage.
Ethics for Insurance and Risk Management Professionals
What motivates ethical behavior and why is it important? Using real-life ethical dilemmas, participants will discuss the insurance agent’s obligations to the insurer, the consumer, and their peers.
