Daniel Fink | Bio
Daniel Fink has 35 years of experience as an Independent Insurance Agent in the Midwest and Southwest. In 2013 he moved from the agency to the company side and has served as Territorial Marketing Manager.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts (cum laude) in Journalism and English from Oakland University, Rochester, MI, Daniel worked as a free-lance newspaper reporter. But then he married into an insurance family and most of his creative writing turned into writing of insurance coverages. He learned insurance from the ground up and helped to grow the family agency eventually managing the commercial lines department and starting a hospitality insurance division specializing in hotels, restaurants, and taverns.
In 1999, Daniel returned to his home state of Arizona with his family. He ran his own agency for a time and then merged with a larger Arizona agency.
Since 2004, Daniel has been teaching classes for The National Alliance and state associations including the CIC, Ruble, and CISR programs. He has also spoken at convention and trade associations on insurance coverages, risk management, and insurance topics
In 2011, Daniel served as President of the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of Arizona and prior to that served on the its board of directors and as chairman of its education committee. Daniel also serves as an expert witness on insurance matters and standard of care assisting attorneys on insurance litigation matters. He has served on the committee to review the insurance agents licensing exam for the State of Arizona.
Daniel has been active in teaching, sports, drama, writing, and playing with his grandkids. He also likes to attend and work in his local church and working with children including AZ foster kids.
His loves include his three children: Andrea, Sarah, and Daniel Jr. , and his grandson Avery (13). Daniel just married his love and fellow adventurer Dina on Christmas Eve 2015. And with her, they now have 6 grandchildren which they thoroughly enjoy.
Jay Williams | Bio
Jay Williams is a National Faculty Member and an Educational Consultant for The National Alliance for Insurance Education and Research. He earned his CIC designation in 1996 and his CRM designation in 2004.
He is a veteran of the insurance industry, starting his career in 1979. His experience includes 21 years in the agency business, nine years at the Florida Association of Insurance Agents, and seven years as an insurance company and PEO executive. Jay also served as the interim CEO for Applied Client Network, the user-group association for agents using Applied Systems platforms.
Jay has been teaching formal insurance classes for over 20 years, including both technical insurance and E&O loss control classes for FAIA. He was part of the IIABA Loss Control Working Group for 5 years and also served on the Professional Liability Committee.
His experience on the agency, association, and company sides gives Jay a uniquely rounded perspective on the insurance industry. His most recent position was the CEO of a construction risk wholesale operation. In addition to his work as an insurance educator, Jay serves as an expert witness, a consultant to insurance companies, associations, agencies, and industry-related partners, and an E&O auditor.
