How to determine if a client, and their automobiles, are eligible for a ISO Personal Auto Policy (PAP) by exploring ownerships, types of eligible vehicles, and elgible vehicle usage.
Examine the Personal Auto Policy to identify "who is an insured," what is a "covered auto," and how coverage applies to a "Newly Acquired Auto."
Though exploration of Part B - Medical Payments Coverage or Personal Injury Protection (in required States) you will utilize the Insuring Agreement and the definition of "insured" to understand who is entitled to receive coverage and what these coverage parts provide.
Who is an "insured" and what is an "Uninsured Motor Vehicle," how states differ in their defintions of "Underinsured Motor Vehicle" (a coverage trigger), and how much a client will receive (the coverage offset).
How to explain "Collision" and Other Than "Collision" coverage to clients, how coverage is provided to their owned autos and "non owned autos," Part - D coverage exclusions, and endorsements to close various gaps in coverage.
Learn about the exposures created by renting a vehicle and the coverage provided by the ISO Personal Auto Policy so that you may confidently explain coverage gaps as well as other coverage opttions.

FACULTY BIO


Frank Millsaps


Frank Millsaps is President of Millsaps & Associates, Inc. and Managing Member of Millsaps Consulting, LLC. After working for an insurance company for 10 years, Frank started his own agency in 1993. Shortly thereafter he earned his CIC designation in 1995 and his CISR designation in 2003. He later added Certified Graduate Associate (CGA) of the National Home Builders Association. Frank was educated at Broward Community College in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and the University of Florida in Gainesville after serving in the US Army during the Vietnam War. As a member of local, state and national insurance associations, he has served on various boards and committees and in 2002 was chosen by his peers as “Insuror of the Year” by the Alabama Independent Insurance Agents Association. He has also served on two national boards and committees of insurance agency management systems and presently is Board Member Emeritus of the Home Builders Association of Metro Mobile. In addition, Frank has participated in many local and civic organizations. After teaching insurance classes for many associations and companies, Frank formed Millsaps Consulting, LLC, an insurance training and consulting firm. Focusing on teaching and providing continuing education, he also does expert witness testimony and consults with many attorneys and companies in the Southeast.
