Bernard J. Neff | Bio

Bernie Neff was an underwriter and then the Senior Training Specialist of the St. Paul Fire and Marine's Education Department for 27 years. His responsibilities included the planning, coordinating, and teaching of approximately 45 - 50 weeks of insurance classroom instruction each year, with a staff of 3 other instructors. Bernie's usual audience consists of agents, underwriters, and marketing personnel. Bernie earned his CPCU designation in 1975. He taught all 10 Parts of the CPCU course on behalf of the St. Paul Association of Insurance Women, Int'l for 25 years. He has been a member of the CIC National Faculty since 1974 and was involved in the earliest CIC institutes in the country. Bernie is now the longest serving CIC National Faculty member. Bernie was an instructor of the Contractors Ruble Seminars for over 13 years and also taught various Ruble topics for the National Alliance. Bernie retired from St. Paul in 1996, and now teaches classes all over the United States.

Stanley Cole Tucker | Bio

Cole Tucker is the President of Tucker-Franklin Insurance Group, Inc. in Mechanicsville, Virginia. He was an agent with Virginia Farm Bureau before opening Tucker-Franklin in 1998. He received his Life Underwriter Training Council Fellowship (LUTCF) designation in 1997, his CIC designation in 2002 and his CRM designation in 2009. He has a degree in English Literature from George Mason University and a degree in Chemistry from the University of Richmond. He has moderated courses for the Life Underwriting Training Council and for the Richmond Association of Life Underwriters. Cole is an instructor for the National Alliance and teaches CISR courses in personal lines, ethics, life and health insurance and risk management. He is also a National CIC Faculty member and was elected to the CIC Board of Governors in 2019. He is involved with the Professional Insurance Agents Association (PIA) of Virginia and DC in many capacities, currently as the chair of the Education Committee. He teaches pre-licensing courses for the PIA of VA/DC in P&C and L&H. He is a past president of the PIA of Virginia and DC and still serves on a number of committees. Cole was recognized in June of 2013 as the PIA Virginia Agent of the Year and in March of 2014 as the National PIA Agent of the Year. He was featured in the June 2014 issue of National Underwriter magazine.

Victor A. Puleo | Bio

Dr. Victor Puleo is the Davey Chair of Risk Management and Insurance in the Lacy School of Business at Butler University, Indianapolis, IN. He earned a doctorate degree in risk management and insurance at Florida State University. Dr. Puleo has articles published in the Journal of Insurance Issues, Risk Management and Insurance Review, Managerial Finance, and Best's Review. The Davey Risk Management and Insurance Program at Butler University equips students with a variety of experiential education - including two required for-credit internships. Butler University's College of Business is the top-ranked business school in the country for internships according to Bloomberg Businessweek's rankings. Highlights of the Davey Risk Management and Insurance Program include the first-of-its-kind student-run captive insurance company, lifelong career mentors, two required for-credit internships, student attendance at national and regional industry events, classroom case studies, and an elite chapter of Gamma Iota Sigma - the international collegiate insurance, risk management and actuarial student fraternity. Dr. Puleo is a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and Certified Financial Planner ™ Certificant. He is an Educational Consultant (1994) and National Faculty Member (2008) for the Society of Certified Insurance Counselors. Dr. Puleo is a member of the Board of Directors and Chair of The National Alliance Research Academy. Prior to being named the Davey Chair of Risk Management and Insurance, Dr. Puleo was an Associate Professor of Insurance and Risk Management at the University of Central Arkansas (UCA), Conway, AR. The insurance and risk management undergraduate degree program at UCA is nationally ranked. Students from UCA were the first in the country to be conferred the University Associate Certified Insurance Counselor (UACIC) designation. The UACIC designation was created to give college students pursuing an insurance and risk management undergraduate degree the opportunity to attain a new level of professionalism through advanced practical education while in college. This designation is a program of the National Alliance Research Academy.
