In this session participants will identify the problems and discuss possible solutions to better serve their Personal Homeowners and Auto clients. Prepare to discuss issues related to host liquor liability, coverage for students away at school, damage to residence premises rented to others or premises under renovation, earthquake and flood coverage, and more.
Participants will explore how agents balance their profitability with their legal and fiduciary responsibilities while at the same time attempt to attract new business in a very competitive marketplace. They will understand the importance of ethical conduct in handling client information, insurance company applications, policy service/delivery and claims. This will include both standard markets and excess and surplus lines.
Workers Compensation is a necessity for almost every business, but it can be complex. How can the cost of workers compensation to be controlled effectively? During this session, you will learn about alternate funding options for workers compensation exposures. You will examine Guaranteed Cost Plans, Retrospective Rating Plans, Large Deductible Plans, Rent-a-Captives, and Self-Insurance.
This session is for inquiring minds who want to better understand captive insurance. What is a captive? What is the purpose of a captive? Participants will examine analyses of single parent, group, and rent-a-captives, and discuss the type of funding mechanism utilized in each. They will discuss the pros and cons of the captive mechanism from the standpoint of the captive and its member.
