OVERVIEW AND TOPICS

Participants will discuss significant coverage issues associated with non-owned autos used for personal use and used in business. They will review the types of non-owned autos including leased, rented, borrowed, hired, etc. They will identify the exposures and protection provided in the latest edition of the ISO Personal Auto Policy and ISO Business Automobile Coverage form along with endorsements available to modify coverage. They will also examine rental car contracts and coverage available using insurance, waivers, and credit cards.
Take an in-depth look at specific coverages involving the ISO Commercial General Liability form, including premises and business operations, product and completed operations, contractual, contingent, and personal and advertising injury liability. Identify selected CGL exclusions and the impact on their clients. Learn how specific endorsements can amend policy provisions, add coverage, increase or decrease coverage limits, or restrict coverage. Examine the status of additional insured in the CGL Policy. Discuss who is an insured, why the additional insured endorsement may be needed, and the impact of the endorsement on the coverage.
Participants will examine directors and officers liability including its basis in law, non-insurance protection available to non and for profit board members (including statutes, immunity laws, state-by-state), and a framework for analysis of insurance coverage. They will also understand the typical objections to coverage and data to counter these objections.
Participants will learn about the variety of liability exposures and coverages that face the small to middle market commercial account. They will have a better understanding of the Commercial General Liability Occurrence and Claims-Made coverage forms. They will take an in-depth look at Who Is An Insured under the CGL policy and discuss reasons for adding additional insureds. They will discuss the liquor liability exclusion and how to provide adequate coverage for their insureds. They will identify liability issues in the Business Automobile Coverage form. The session will conclude with a discussion of Umbrella and Excess Liability Insurance and Certificates of Insurance. They will identify the problems for each and recommend solutions.
