Allen Messer | Bio


Allen Messer brings technical skill, initiative, and experience to bear on the complex problems of insurance and risk management. He began his insurance career in March of 1971. He has worked for several different insurance companies in various capacities and has been involved in the independent agency system as a producer and agency owner. Allen currently consults agencies, companies, risk managers, and attorneys as well as instructs various seminars and live webinars. He earned his CPCU designation in 1981 where he received the Distinguished Graduate Award for attaining the highest academic average in the Nation. He earned his CIC designation in 1977 and serves as an Educational Consultant and is a National Faculty member of The National Alliance for Insurance Education & Research.

Carol Breed | Bio


Carol Breed has over 50 years of experience in the field of insurance. She has worked with insurance organizations in the areas of marketing, sales, service, and technical education. Carol earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration with a Concentration in Insurance at Olivet College and a Juris Doctor at Thomas M. Cooley Law School. She earned her CIC designation in 1985 and her CRM designation in 2013. She has also earned the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter, the Accredited Advisor in Insurance, and the Associate in Surplus Lines Insurance designations from the American Institute for Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters. Carol is a member of the State of Michigan Bar Association and is licensed to practice law in both Federal and State courts. Carol is the former director of The Risk Management and Insurance Center and holds the title of Professor Emeritus at Olivet College. She was the advisor of the award winning Alpha Alpha Chapter of Gamma Iota Sigma, the International Risk Management and Insurance Fraternity. She truly enjoys her current position of helping young people develop their skills and professionalism.

Casey Roberts | Bio


Casey Roberts is the principal and founder of Laurus Insurance Consulting specializing in providing continuing education classes, sales coaching, sales management and expert witness work. Established in 2010, the name “Laurus” (Loris) was chosen with intent and purpose. Derived from Latin and meaning “victory” or “success”, Casey strives to make every interaction just that…a success/victory for all concerned. Prior to founding his consulting firm, Casey spent 34 years on the retail side of the insurance business as an agency owner, personal lines and commercial lines producer and sales manager. He has been teaching CE classes for some 25 years. He attained his CIC designation in 1989, his ACSR in 1992 and his AFIS in 2005. His past commitments to the industry include a stint as a director for the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of California, a director for the Agriculture and Farm Insurance Specialist (AFIS) designation as well as serving on his state’s agribusiness insurance committee. He currently serves on the California Department of Insurance’s Curriculum board.

John Nicholas Masselli | Bio


John Masselli is currently President & CEO of Enterprise Advisory Partners, LLC in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina. He attended the University of Rochester and completed distance learning studies in management with Kennedy-Western University. John’s insurance career began in 1979 as an agent for Prudential, then as a Sales Manager in 1981, instructing the new agents’ training program until 1984 when he became an independent agent. He left insurance briefly to join family in the restaurant business in 1989, but in 1990 he returned to insurance, becoming an underwriter for Commercial Mutual Insurance Company. He later became Vice President of Underwriting and then Vice President of Underwriting and Claims with Commercial Mutual Insurance Company. John then joined Colonial Cooperative Insurance Company as Vice President of Insurance Operations, with direct oversight of Claims and Underwriting. He worked as a management consultant to York Claims Services in 2005 and in 2006, he joined New York Mutual Underwriters, first as Assistant Manager and in 2008, became General Manager & CEO, retiring from that position in April of 2018. John received his CIC designation in 2001, his CPCU designation in 2009 and his AAI, AIS and AU professional designations in 2009 and 2010. He served on the Forms Writing Committee of the Underwriters Rating Board RSO and was a member of its Board of Governors. He has been an instructor for The National Alliance since May of 2017, teaching CIC commercial lines topics. He was Greene County’s STOP-DWI Coordinator for 20 years, during which time he was an instructor for the “Point & Insurance Reduction” course in New York state. He regularly speaks at various civic and professional organizations and is a member and Past President of the Northeastern New York Chapter, CPCU Society. He was voted “Insurance Professional of The Year for 2017”, by the Albany, New York Capital District Insurance Professionals Organization.
