Todd R. Davis | Bio
Todd is the owner and operator of the Davis Agency Insurance in Peoria. Todd was licensed and started his insurance career at age 15 by working for the family agency in the office. The Agency was started in 1924 by Todd's grandfather. After attending Bradley University, with a major in Mechanical Engineering (later returning for a degree in Marketing and Public Relations), Todd re-entered the family agency with his father. In 1985, Todd became a partner and then purchased the agency in 1992. The Davis Agency is a multi-line independent agency with 55% Property/Casualty and 45% Health and Life business. Property/Casualty business is split 80/20 between personal and commercial lines.
Mr. Davis earned the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation in 1995. He is presently working toward the Charter Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation, and previously completed the curriculum for Life Underwriters Training Council (LUTC). Todd has taught the Errors and Omissions Loss Prevention Seminars, as well as wide range of Personal Lines, Commercial Lines, and agency management courses for the Independent Insurance Agents of Illinois, as well as instruction in Iowa, Ohio, Minnesota, Wisconsin, North and South Dakota, and Indiana.
In 1992, and again in 1996, Todd served as the President of the Peoria Area Association of Professional Independent Insurance Agents and served numerous times as a Board Member of the Independent Insurance Agents of Illinois. In addition, Mr. Davis has been actively involved as a liaison between the IIA of Illinois and agents in Central Illinois concerning legislative issues, member services, and continuing education. Todd received the PIIAI Young Agent of the Year Award in 1996.
In addition to his current teaching schedule or over 100+ days annually in 15 states across the country, Todd is also called upon regularly to provide expert witness testimony in lawsuits involving insurance agents and insurance companies. Todd is recognized as an expert involving agent responsibilities, legal standards, and fiduciary duties. Todd has testified in cases heard before the Illinois Supreme Court.
