The Additional Insured
Participants will learn the primary objectives for adding additional insureds, including the problems and how to minimize negative impacts. They will focus on the named insured, automatic insureds, and the additional insureds from the perspective of coverage provided by the Commercial General Liability and Umbrella/Excess Liability Policies.
Solving Troublesome Property Issues
Participants examine property issues that can be troublesome for their insureds. They will identify potential coverage pitfalls and explore methods to remedy these pitfalls. They will discuss property valuation issues for buildings and personal property, equipment, stock in progress, and inventory. They will look at replacement cost issues and options. They will review elements of the lease agreement, types of leases, and provision in a lease agreement. They will discuss improvements and betterments, including ownership of improvements and betterments, common law rules, responsibility of repair or replacement, and insurance options. They will learn about alternate methods of valuation and conclude with a discussion of business income issues.
Ethical Issues
In this session, participants will understand ethical challenges that insurance professionals face, difference between legal and ethical responsibilities and their fiduciary duties and obligations to the customer, insurer, and peers.
Understanding (and Managing) the 3 Big Government Benefits: Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid
Participants will be introduced to the three major government programs available to most U.S. citizens. They will learn the requirements to qualify for the programs, the benefits these programs have, and the gaps that exist.
