Mark Gaskamp | Bio
Mark Gaskamp is currently a Senior Vice President for Marsh Wortham in Austin, Texas. Mark is responsible for leading the risk management and loss control practice, along with a variety of other roles for the Austin office. Prior to joining Wortham, Mark served as a Senior Underwriter for The St. Paul and Travelers organization. Before serving in an underwriting capacity, he held various positions in the St. Paul Risk Control unit. His responsibilities have included: Regional Supervisor, Risk Management Large Account Specialist, Regional Public Sector Specialist, and National Specialist for the Professional Specialty Unit. He worked closely with safety and risk management professionals to coordinate, develop, and implement accident prevention programs which positively impact the organizations overall cost of risk. Mark also served as a risk consultant for Corporate Systems, responsible for data analysis and risk management information consulting for Fortune 500 companies, third party administrators, and insurance carriers. Mark is very active in the safety and risk management community. He has served as national faculty member of The National Alliance Certified Risk Manager's program since 2003, and as an adjunct Risk Management professor at the University of Texas at Austin. He is a former president of the Central Texas Chapter of the American Society of Safety Engineers, and in 2009 he was the recipient of the Safety Professional of the Year for the ASSE Region III (Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas). He has also served on the Central Texas safety committees for the Association of Building Contractors and Association of General Contractors. He has also served as the Chairman of the Risk Management Committee for the Rio Texas Methodist Conference comprising of over 300 churches in Texas and New Mexico. Mark has published numerous insurance and risk management articles, and presented at regional and national professional development conferences for numerous organizations, including the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE), Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS), Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA), Association of Building Contractors (ABC), , Association of General Contractors (AGC), Insurances and Risk Management Institute (IRMI), and Public Risk & Insurance Management Association (PRIMA). Mark holds a BBA in Risk Management and Finance from the University of Texas at Austin. He has attained the following professional designations: Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Risk Manager (CRM), Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), Associate in Risk Management (ARM), Associate in Loss Control Management (ALCM), Certified Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU).
Michael Lee Hay | Bio
Mike Hay is the CEO of Strategic Risk Consulting, LLC. His broad professional background in financial management and risk management, teamed with his experience in using information technology to achieve critical business objectives, allows him to assist his public and private sector clients in planning and addressing their risks at enterprise and strategic levels.
Mike's prior professional experience includes positions as Director of Risk Management Programs for The National Alliance for Insurance Education and Research as well as Director of Information Resources and Risk Assessment / Loss Prevention for the Texas State Office of Risk Management. Mike also has extensive public-sector experience with the Texas State Comptroller's Office and as Assistant Superintendent for Business for several school districts. Mike has led in the development of several large-scale information technology and risk management projects including the Texas State Property Accounting System, Texas Budget Execution and Monitoring System and the Texas Risk Evaluation and Planning System. Mike is a past president of the National Property Management Association (NPMA) and is an author of NPMA's "The Standard Property Book - Asset Management for the New Millennium" and is an author of "Essentials of Risk Management" published by The National Alliance for Insurance Education and Research.
Mike is a national faculty member for The National Alliance's Certified Risk Manager Program and serves on the faculty for the Certified School Risk Manager and Certified Insurance Service Representative programs. In addition to his risk management consulting services, Mike teaches and lectures throughout the nation on topics related to risk and property management and continues to write numerous articles for national and international publications.
Vince Staub | Bio
Vince Staub is a practicing Chief Risk and Compliance Officer with over 25 years of experience currently working in high tech sector in the San Francisco Bay Area for Multi-National companies.
He is a National Faculty member for The National Alliance for Insurance Education & Research and teaches CRM courses.
Over the years, Vince has created and run various Environmental, Health & Safety programs, Information Security Programs and Risk Management functions which included Executive Risk, Business Continuity, Property Loss Control and Worker's Comp. In his earlier years he worked as a Camp Counselor, Life Guard and EMT. Currently Vince is on the leadership team of his Community Emergency Response Team and serves as a Chaplain for the local Police Department.
Vince holds a Master's of Science in Occupational Health & Safety, is a Certified Ethics and Compliance Professional and a Certified Risk Manager since 2007.
