What Time Does This Start For Me?

Pacific Mountain Central Eastern

OVERVIEW AND TOPICS

Using a question and answer approach, participants will identify exposures faced by Homeowners and learn how the ISO Homeowners Form would respond. Each exposure area will be presented using the situational analysis method. Participants will then go through a problem identification process that will lead to a solution and preferred outcome to the exposure. The exposure areas will include, but not be limited to, business operations, contractual liability, and watercraft coverage.
Participants will learn the reasons why flood insurance should be recommended to their personal lines clients. They will examine coverage provided by the NFIP and the Dwelling Form Standard Flood Insurance Policy, including the policy provisions and conditions unique to the flood policy. They will compare coverage provided by the flood policy and the Homeowners Policy.
After an overview of inland marine insurance and the distinction between controlled and uncontrolled inland marine forms, agents will examine coverage issues related to Contractor’s Equipment, Builder’s Risk, and Installation Floaters. They will complete a detailed study of the variations in Contractor’s Equipment Floaters, Inland Marine Builders Risk Policies, and Installation Floaters written in today’s insurance marketplace. Participants will be able to explain what is and is not covered, as well as additional coverage to consider. They will discuss interests covered, covered causes of loss, exclusions, policy provisions, underwriting concerns, valuation, and premium determination. They will evaluate the purpose and use of common endorsements to modify coverage for the inland marine exposures.
