OVERVIEW AND TOPICS
Underlying Versus Excess: A Closer Look At Policy Provisions
Agents will compare and contrast the ISO Commercial General Liability (CGL) Policy with Excess or Umbrella policies that might sit over the top. Understanding the similarities and differences between the language within each form will enable agents to recognize where gaps may be created and have a more in-depth understanding of why those gaps exist.
Lessons from CAT Losses
In this session, participants will examine losses that are uninsured as a result of coverage being left out or incorrectly written. This will include commercial property, business income, flood, and other property insurance coverages. Participants will review property claims dealing with property valuation, correct use of forms, ordinance or law, spoilage coverage, equipment breakdown, and more. They will identify business income issues related to civil authority, extra expense, utility services, and dependent properties. They will compare private flood insurance versus the NFIP.
Construction Risk - What's not in the CGL
The potential for professional liability claims may seem apparent when considering services such as engineering or construction management. In this 4-hour session, insurance professionals will explore exposures beyond the typical commercial general liability, workers compensation, and commercial auto exposures in the construction industry. They will examine the types of coverages for ancillary exposures, such as: contractors pollution, contingent pollution, contractors professional liability, rectification costs coverage, protective indemnity coverage, network security/privacy liability, technology, faulty workmanship, etc. They will identify emerging risks that could have a significant impact on the construction industry, such as: automated/autonomous construction machinery, robotics, drones, and artificial intelligence. They will discuss the exposures, coverage issues, and gaps with traditional insurance policies and explore possible solutions to these emerging and unique risks.
Beyond the Cyber Policy
There are a multitude of cyber exposures beyond the information security-driven risks addressed by the typical cyber policy. In this session, participants will learn to identify those cyber exposures and examine their impact into property, casualty, and other claims that may arise. They will discuss the risk management challenges and discuss insurance coverage solutions found beyond the cyber policy for these unique exposures.
