PROCTOR INSTRUCTIONS
- The proctor must confirm the identity of test-takers by requiring a government-issued photo ID, such as a State-issued driver’s license or State-issued ID. Participants who do not provide a satisfactory ID must be turned away.
- The participant will access their digital exam through their account at www.scic.com . Participant will log in to their account and click on Launch Learning Portal. Once on the course site, click on Learning Center. Then locate and click on the title of the course.
- The Final Exam menu item will be in the left hand Table of Contents window. Locate the exam item and click on it to open the exam window.
- The proctor will enter Proctor Pin _________ and then click “Start”.
- Question responses will save automatically when the participant clicks NEXT to advance to the next page.
- Once the exam is finished, the proctor will submit the exam.
Exam Procedures
- Exam taker should be given a quiet place to test without distractions.
- All notebooks and other study material should be inaccessible during the exam. This is a closed book test.
- Participants are allowed to use blank scratch paper during the exam.
- 4-function calculators may be used for the exam, but no programmable or financial calculators.
- Cellphones and other devices should not be accessible while testing.
- Leaving the exam room is not allowed except to use the restroom. No cell phones may be taken with the student when they leave the room.
- The proctor must be in the room during the exam and remain in a location where they can see the participants screen.
- The digital exam has a timer to help the proctor enforce the time limit. All exams will auto-submit when time expires. Participants finishing the exam before time has expired are permitted to submit their exam and leave.
What to do if you suspect cheating?
- The proctor must witness the cheating. A third-party relaying this information is not adequate evidence.
- The proctor must address the issue with the participant on-site. The proctor must tell the participant what they have witnessed. Collect any notes, etc. and send them to The National Alliance with a report. Let the participant know that the incident will be reported immediately to The National Alliance.
- The incident must be reported to either of the following: 1-800-633-2165 or examhelp@scic.com
- The matter will be handled from The National Alliance offices.
Troubleshooting
- If the exam taker loses connection to the exam, they are allowed to re-enter as many times as needed as long as the time is still running. The proctor will reenter the same password.
- Please note that the exam clock continues to count down once the participant has entered the exam for the first time, so it is of the utmost importance to re-establish a lost connection to the exam as soon as possible.
