Mike Smith | Bio

Michael Smith is the co-founder and former President of Global Marine Insurance Agency, one of the largest marine only specialty agencies in the US who represent every major marine insurer. Mike's 38 year career focus has been as an agent and executive specialized in personal and commercial marine risks. Mike is a certified (CE) marine insurance instructor for Commercial Marine Insurance Professional (CMIP), Michigan Association of Insurance Agents (MAIA) and the National Marine Lenders Association (NMLA). Mike's career and boating background uniquely qualify him to instruct on the subject of yacht insurance. Mike began boating as a young boy and has owned or operated various boats of all sizes, both power and sail and has cruised extensively in the Great Lakes and the Caribbean. Mike served on the board of directors of the National Marine Lenders Association and is the past president of the local community sailing program; Traverse Area Community Sailing (TACS) and is a member of the Grand Traverse Yacht Club. Mikes passion for boats and his love of the water are revealed in each of his seminars along with his numerous "war stories" relating to yachting and insurance.

Patricia Myers | Bio

Trish Myers is Vice President, South Region, for Hagerty, a company dedicated to the car enthusiast lifestyle, headquartered in Traverse City, Michigan. Based in Tampa, Florida, Trish leads a team of territory managers across 11 states who are committed to cultivating the hobbyist culture and community while offering robust risk management solutions for collectors of all sizes. Trish joined Hagerty in 2019 with more than 15 years of high net worth industry experience as both the agent and the carrier. As an agent, she served as the National Practice Leader for Private Risk Management at USI. While working at USI, she led teams toward exceeding growth targets by providing risk management solutions, ongoing stewardship and lifestyle advice to individuals and family offices. Prior to USI, she led the high net worth producers in the south for Wells Fargo’s Private Risk Management team. The Wells Fargo team specialized in partnering with financial services partners in order to consult, design and deliver robust risk management advice and customized insurance solutions. As a carrier, Trish developed her expertise by teaching agents how to build their book of high net worth clients, understand and interpret insurance contracts, implement marketing strategies, and execute a balanced approach to delivering the service model. She held multiple positions during her 11 years at Chubb in appraisal, marketing, education and leadership. Her affinity for sales and marketing developed during her first career; 10 years at Xerox. She proudly achieved her CAPI designation from the Wharton School of Business in 2018 and is in the process of completing her CPRM designation in 2020.

Rose Marie Norman | Bio

Rose Marie Norman graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Studies and minors in Aviation Business Administration, Space Studies, and Mathematics. She is currently a Vice President and Account Executive at Marsh & McLennan Companies in Dallas, Texas. Previously, she has spent 9 years as an Aviation Broker at Aon in Wichita, KS and Dallas, TX and 2 years as an Account Executive at Leading Edge Insurance Agency in Colorado Springs, CO. Rose Marie is a licensed Property & Casualty General Lines Agent in the state of Texas and holds over 30 non-resident licenses. Rose Marie earned her CIC designation in 2014 as well as her Certified Aviation Insurance Professional (CAIP) designation. In her roles in Aviation, Rose Marie has provided risk management advisement and placed aviation policies for clients who have risks in Aviation Products, Completed Operations, & Grounding Liability, Workers Compensation, Airport Liability, Aircraft Hull & Liability, Charter Liability, Airline Leasing Liability, Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Liability, Non-Owned Aircraft Liability, and Space Launch Liability for single line and quota share placements. Aviation has always been a part of Rose Marie’s life and she even took her first flying lesson when she was 15 years old as a member of the Civil Air Patrol. She is currently a member of Women in Aviation International, the North Texas Business Aviation Association, and the North Texas Council of Governments UAS Safety & Integration Task Force. She has also served on the Board of Directors and Advisory Council for Dreams Soar, Inc., a non-profit organization which works to inspire and provide mentorship for the next generation of Aviation and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) professionals. In her role within Dreams Soar, she has provided broking and insurance risk advisement and coordinated international outreach with partners, such as the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO, a specialized agency of the United Nations), various international civil aviation authorities, and aviation and STEM related businesses and professional organizations.

Ross Winston Pearce | Bio

Ross began his career in the insurance business as an agent in 1985 in Santa Maria, California with Farmers Insurance. After seven successful years, he moved to East Tennessee as a District Manager. He was recruited by Farmers to become an employee moving to Iowa as the Life and Financial Services Manager for the state. When the University of Farmers began, he was tapped to lead the training division and helped develop this university into the number one corporate university in the world in 2011. Ross left corporate life in 2012 and took over an agency in Austin, Texas. In 2015 he retired and has been devoting time to training agents and volunteer activities. In April of 2017 Ross accepted a position as Director of Coaching with Contract Coach, a firm comprised of experienced insurance agents and managers whose goal is to help agency's re-shape their business, so that the agency owners can achieve their individual personal goals. Ross earned his Certified Insurance Counselors designation in 1999 and is a National Faculty member for The National Alliance, teaching at the CIC Life and Health and Personal Lines Institutes. In addition to his CIC designation, Ross has also earned the insurance designations of Charter Life Underwriter (CLU), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow (LUTCF) and Consultative Sales Graduate (CSG).

Samuel T. Bennett | Bio

Sam Bennett is an active retail producer, presenter, and shareholder in Harrison Agency, Inc. of Columbia, MO. He began his insurance career in 1987 and has been an Independent Insurance Agent from the beginning. He has worked with individuals, families, and small businesses his entire career. In this capacity, he has worked in the personal lines, commercial lines, agribusiness and life and health marketplaces. As a result of working with many types of clients, many carriers, and many coverage needs, Sam has grown to understand and appreciate the important ways an insurance professional must work with markets and clients in today's insurance world. Sam obtained his Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation in 1996. He has taught coursework for the National Alliance in their CISR program since 2000, has presented in their CIC program since 2004, and in 2009 became a National Faculty Member of the Society of CIC. Sam is also a National Faculty Member in the Agribusiness and Farm Insurance Specialist (AFIS) program. Sam has been called upon to offer insurance education in conferences and symposiums across the country over the past twenty years and has provided services to several law firms in the capacity of expert consultant.
